01
Voter Rights Campaign

Your Name Is Your Vote

Defending 69 Million American Women · SAVE Act Response

The SAVE Act introduces federal documentation requirements that create an unprecedented barrier to voting for millions of American women. The core problem: 69 million women have birth certificates that do not match their current legal names — most of them because they took a spouse's name at marriage.

Under the SAVE Act's documentation requirements, these women may be required to produce additional documentation to register or vote — documentation many do not have, cannot easily obtain, or cannot afford to acquire. The burden falls disproportionately on married women, older women, low-income women, and women in rural communities.

Your Name Is Your Vote is Momentum Rising's direct response. We run documentation clinics to help affected women resolve mismatches before Election Day, we operate a petition campaign to build political pressure against these requirements, and we build the documented case base that voting rights attorneys need to challenge the SAVE Act in court.

How You Can Participate
  • Sign and share the Momentum Rising SAVE Act petition
  • Attend a documentation clinic in your area
  • Host a "Name Check Party" — verify five friends' registrations together
  • Volunteer as a clinic assistant or outreach coordinator
  • Share your story — your personal experience is the case for change
  • Escort a neighbor to the county clerk to resolve documentation issues
  • Donate to fund documentation clinic operations

Election Integrity Program

Project Sentinel

Certified Poll Watchers · VA · PA · GA · AZ · 2026 Midterms

Project Sentinel is Momentum Rising's poll watcher training and deployment program for the 2026 midterm elections. We are building a professional corps of certified, trained, and state-credentialed poll watchers who will be deployed to targeted precincts across Virginia, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Arizona.

Poll watching is not passive observation. Sentinel-trained watchers know state law cold, understand challenge procedures, can identify voter intimidation and document it in attorney-ready format, and have a direct line to pre-positioned legal teams who can file emergency motions within the hour.

In 2026, the threats to Election Day integrity are documented and serious — ICE deployments in targeted communities, organized voter challenges, equipment failures, and provisional ballot manipulation. Project Sentinel exists to ensure that trained civilian witnesses are in position before any of it happens, not scrambling to respond after.

How to Join Project Sentinel
  • Submit your Sentinel application (rolling admissions)
  • Complete your state's poll watcher certification training
  • Attend the Momentum Rising Sentinel Skills intensive
  • Confirm your Election Day precinct assignment
  • Participate in a pre-election mock drill
  • Serve as a certified poll watcher on Election Day
  • File structured observer reports for the post-election record

Leadership Development

Civic Leadership Pipeline

Elected Office · Appointed Roles · Party Structure · Community Leadership

The civic leadership crisis in America is not a shortage of capable women. It is a shortage of women who have been given the training, the connections, and the structured pathway to step into public roles with confidence and preparation.

Momentum Rising's Civic Leadership Pipeline moves women from civic interest to civic power — through structured training in ethical leadership and democratic practice, through shadowing and mentorship with elected officials and civic leaders, and through direct support for women seeking elected or appointed positions at the local, state, and federal level.

We believe democracy is not defended only at the polls. It is defended by who sits on the school board, who chairs the county party committee, who runs for state legislature, and who accepts the appointment to the planning commission. Momentum Rising trains those women — and then supports them when they step forward.

How to Join the Pipeline
  • Apply for the Momentum Rising Civic Leadership Training cohort
  • Attend a county party, school board, or city council meeting this month
  • Complete the Ethical Leadership & Democratic Practice intensive
  • Shadow a local elected official or committee chair for a day
  • Apply for an open board, commission, or appointed position
  • Support a Momentum Rising-trained woman's campaign
  • Attend the post-election debrief and 2027 planning summit

No Organization
Wins Alone.

Momentum Rising's three programs are made stronger by the coalitions we build around them. We partner with immigrant rights organizations, voting rights legal teams, civic education groups, and community organizations who share our commitment to durable democratic infrastructure. If your organization belongs in that coalition — let's talk.
