The threat to the 2026 midterms is not one thing.
It is a coordinated, three-stage effort to determine the outcome before a single vote is cast, suppress the vote on Election Day itself, and overturn the results if they don't go the right way.
Momentum Rising is building a citizen-led response to all three stages. Here's what that looks like — and exactly where you fit in.
While everyone debates whether the SAVE Act will pass the Senate, states are already acting. Florida, Mississippi, South Dakota, and Utah have signed their own proof-of-citizenship laws. Twelve states have surrendered voter data to DHS. A March 2026 executive order has set in motion the first attempt in American history to build a federally controlled voter eligibility database — one that will determine who gets a ballot.
The consequence most voters won't see coming: millions of Americans will be purged from the voter rolls before November and won't find out until they show up to vote.
What Momentum Rising will doIdentify the communities most vulnerable to purges. Go door to door. Conduct media outreach. Mobilize pressure on state and local elected officials. Make sure every voter who should be registered knows it — before it's too late.
What you can do right nowCheck your own registration. Check your family's. Share our tools and resources with your community. When we launch our canvass program, we will need people on the ground. That means you.
Trump has said he will post ICE agents at polling places. Trained, certified poll watchers — ordinary citizens who know their rights and know what to document — are one of the most powerful deterrents available. We are building that program through Project Sentinel, and we are connecting with the legal organizations already on the ground — the Lawyers' Committee, ACLU state affiliates, Democracy Docket — so that every incident has a response and every voter has someone standing with them.

What you can doGet trained. We will announce poll watcher training dates as programs launch. This is not complicated work — but it is essential work, and it requires people willing to show up.
If Democrats make significant gains, there is every reason to believe the results will be challenged. Ballots seized. Certification obstructed. We are identifying the organizations building post-election legal defense so that Momentum Rising's trained network can feed the documentation and witness infrastructure those organizations will need.

Momentum Rising is raising the money to design, build, and fund these three programs. We are a 501(c)4 — which means we can do the electoral and advocacy work that foundations and (c)3s cannot legally touch. It also means contributions are not tax-deductible. What they are is unconstrained and direct.
