They haven't changed the playbook since Selma.
Proof-of-citizenship laws. Student IDs stripped. Ballots seized. ICE at the polls. Voter rolls purged without notice. These aren't scattered incidents — they are coordinated strategies, state by state, designed to determine who votes and who doesn't before a single ballot is cast in 2026.
But here's what they're counting on: that you won't be ready.
Momentum Rising is building the programs, tools, and coalitions to make sure you are. Here's what that looks like — before, during, and after Election Day.
Phase One
Before the Election
Know the Threat in Your State
The SAVE Act may be stalled federally — but the fight has moved to the states. Ten states now have proof-of-citizenship laws on the books. Twelve more have bills moving. Every state is a battlefield.
Is your state on the list? Florida, Mississippi, South Dakota, and Utah have already enacted laws. Bills are advancing in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan, North Carolina, and more.
Check your voter registration status now — don't wait to discover at the polls that you've been purged.
What You Can Do
- Check Your RegistrationVote.org or your state's Secretary of State website — confirm your name, address, and status today.
- Gather Your DocumentsUnder these laws, a driver's license may not be enough. Know whether your state requires a passport or birth certificate.
- If Your Name Has ChangedAn estimated 69 million women have names on ID that don't match voter rolls. Verify your registration matches your current legal name.
- Demand Action from Elected OfficialsContact your governor, attorney general, and secretary of state. Ordinary citizens, organized and vocal, have always been the decisive force.
- Join a CoalitionMomentum Rising is working with established organizations already dialed in — with infrastructure, legal resources, and networks in place. We'll connect you.
The SAVE Act & Your Name
Momentum Rising's "Your Name Is Your Vote" campaign is fighting back against one of the most underreported threats in the SAVE Act: the documentation burden that falls hardest on women.
An estimated 69 million women are directly in the crosshairs of this provision. That is not a side effect. That is the point.

ICE at the Polls:
Illegal — But Happening Anyway
Federal law is clear: armed federal agents cannot station themselves at polling places for the purpose of intimidating voters. The Voting Rights Act and the National Voter Registration Act both prohibit voter intimidation in any form.
But states are already positioning themselves to supersede federal law on this.
The goal is fear. You don't have to physically stop every voter if you make enough of them afraid to try.
Trained, informed citizens at and near the polls are the direct counter to this strategy.

Outside the Polling Place
- Document Federal Agent PresenceIf ICE or other federal agents are positioned near a polling place, document it — location, time, agency markings, behavior.
- Voter Line SupportLong lines, voter challenges, and confusion at the polls are often deliberate. Trained volunteers can provide water, information, and moral support.
- Connect Voters to Legal Help866-OUR-VOTE is the national Election Protection hotline. Know the number. Share it. Post it.
Phase Three
After the Election
The Post-Election Playbook:
Riverside County Is the Preview
We don't have to speculate about what MAGA's post-election strategy looks like. We just watched it happen in California.
A Republican sheriff seized 650,000 ballots — based on fabricated claims from a right-wing activist group — using warrants signed by a judge who had publicly endorsed him. The actual discrepancy: 103 votes. The warrants never named a crime. Never named a suspect. This is the rehearsal for 2026.
The Post-Election Threat Framework
- Ballot SeizuresCounty-level officials, with compliant local judges, can move to seize ballots based on fabricated fraud claims.
- Certification RefusalLocal officials refusing to certify results they don't like — a tactic being normalized for 2026.
- Litigation FloodsOverwhelming local election boards with post-election lawsuits to delay, discredit, and overturn results.
- "Investigations" Without EvidenceUsing criminal investigation machinery to cast doubt on legitimate results regardless of outcome.
What Citizens Can Do Post-Election
- Monitor CertificationEvery county has a certification deadline. Watch yours. Attend public meetings. Make officials know they are being observed.
- Document EverythingReal-time documentation of irregularities becomes the evidentiary record for legal challenges.
- Amplify Legal PartnersDemocracy Docket, the Lawyers' Committee, and Protect Democracy are in the courtrooms. Follow them. Share their work.
- Public PressureShow up to meetings. Write letters. Make noise. Riverside County voters did — and the courts responded.
You Don't Have to Do This Alone.
Neither Do We.
Momentum Rising is already working with established coalitions who have been in this fight for decades — organizations with proven infrastructure, legal resources, and networks in the states where the battles are being fought.
We don't reinvent the wheel. We make the wheel stronger.
Spontaneous civic energy is powerful. Organized, sustained civic infrastructure is what wins.
Momentum Rising programs — including full details on Project Sentinel training, coalition partnerships, and how to get involved — are coming soon. Stay close.
"WHO WILL SAVE US?
WE WILL SAVE US."
— Communities of Minnesota, winter 2025
This Is Not a Spectator Sport.
Trump and his administration — in coordination with complicit governors, attorneys general, and secretaries of state — are doing whatever it takes to suppress every voter they see as a threat to their hold on power.
"Voter fraud" is not their concern. Power is. And we are the obstacle.
They haven't changed the playbook since Selma.
Neither have we.
